Born in Lebanon, both Abdul and Rita Maalouf grew up sharing a love for cooking and Lebanese food.  Upon coming to Sacramento, Abdul decided to fullfill his life-long dream of owning a restaurant.  Rita, already having had five years experience in the restaurant industry, supported him and together, they opened Maalouf's on April 9th, 2001.  Since then, the tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant has developed into much more than they ever intended.  With the help of great reviews from local newspapers and television channels, it has gained much popularity with local Sacramentans.  Abdul and Rita are constantly working to keep the quality of their food at its best.  They stick to their Lebanese roots and refuse to take shortcuts when it comes to their traditional home-made cooking.
